From Goodreads:
She’ll gamble her heart on the best friend she left behind…

One lucky break is all struggling actress Sidney Williams needs. But when living the LA life becomes too much, she heads back to the small town of Shamrock Falls for the vacation she needs to get her life on track—and immediately runs into Kade Mitchell, her former best friend and the boy next door she’s always regretted leaving behind.

Kade, the new owner of Lucky’s—once the most popular bar in Shamrock Falls—is determined to bring the place back to its former glory, and seeing Sidney again is a distraction he doesn’t need. Sure, the chemistry between them is explosive, but Kade can’t let himself fall into a fling with his best friend—not when he knows she’s soon heading back to the glitter of Tinseltown.

Now, with the possibility of her first major acting role looming, Sidney must decide if her lucky break is in Hollywood or right where she left it—in Shamrock Falls.

I am so excited to welcome the very awesome Kelley Vitollo to K-Books.

Hi Kelley,
Thanks for being here on K-Books today.

Thanks so much for having me!

When did you first discover that you wanted to be a writer?

I’ve always loved writing. Even from a young age. It was one of those careers I never thought could be possible though. I went through a time where I didn’t write as much, but when I became a stay-at-home mom, I got into it again and haven’t looked back!

Most of your books are in the contemporary genre. Did you always want to write in this genre?

Yes. I enjoy reading paranormal too, but writing, my heart belongs to contemporary. I love real life people and situations. I love reading and writing about things that could happen to me or people I know.

What genre book do you enjoy reading?

A little of everything. I love both YA and adult. I read a lot of contemporary, but have some favorites in paranormal too. I don’t read a lot of historicals, but I do go through historical phases from time to time.

Do you have any authors that you look up to or that inspire you?

I love Lucy Monroe. She’s a phenomenal author and person. Toni Blake is great too.

Your book Lucky Break has been released. What was the inspiration behind that story?

I knew I wanted to write a story about best friends falling in love. My husband and I were friends in high school. I also love books and series that take place in small towns and I really wanted that for this series. I wanted it to be about friends falling in love in their close-knit small town.

How do you feel about unleashing this story into the world?

Exciting! I get nervous too, of course, but it’s an incredible feeling.

Do you take any personal experiences and adapt them into your writing?

Sometimes. Some of the silly things Kade did in the book (the pool, for one) are things my hubby has done. We also grew up in a small town.

Are there any particular scenes that you enjoy writing more than others?

Kissing? LOL. I am a huge romance addict. I love writing about love. I adore scenes with the hero and heroine together, either fighting the attraction or knowing they’re falling in love. I’m a HUGE fan of sarcastic banter and love to write it!

And finally what can we expect to see from you in the future?

Book two of the Shamrock Falls series, LUCK OF THE DRAW comes out in December. After that we’ll get book three!

Getting to Know You – Quick Fire Round

Hardcopy or E-Book? Both? I love them each for different reasons
Bookmark or Dog-Ear? Bookmark
Book or Movie? Book all the way
Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate all the way J
Summer or Winter? Since I live in Southern California I’ll say winter. It’s not too hot, but not too cold.
Ice-Cream or Cake? Ice-cream
Coffee or Tea? Coffee
Nice guy or bad boy? Sigh. Bad boy.

Thank you so much for being here on K-Books with us today.

Thank you for having me. I had a blast!
